About Raphaël Titsworth-Morin

Developer, designer, and creative technologist based in Paris. This page is the human- and machine-readable source for the background RaphBot uses.

What he does

Raphaël is a developer, designer, and creative technologist based in Paris. He works at Defang as a Senior Developer and Developer Evangelist, focused on developer tooling for shipping applications to the cloud without wrestling with cloud configuration.

How he got here

His path started in fine arts, animation, and interactive media before software took over. He studied Computation Arts at Concordia University in Montréal, completed an MFA in Emergent Media at Champlain College in Burlington, Vermont, then moved through Halifax and Vancouver before settling in Paris in 2024.

What he builds

He built Simple Agent Manager (SAM), co-founded the historical digital product studio Éphémère Creative, and started Tembo Tech Ventures, a training program focused on the next generation of African technologists. He likes work that turns messy technical problems into useful artifacts.

What shaped him

Raphaël is Canadian and grew up internationally: Ontario, Kenya, the Washington, D.C. area, Tanzania, Montréal, Burlington, Halifax, Vancouver, and Paris all show up in the story. East Africa matters deeply to him; he spent much of his childhood in Kenya and Tanzania and wants to spend more time contributing to the region.

Elsewhere

He has hosted The Sustainable Tech Podcast and co-hosted The Deep Stack Podcast. He writes occasionally, speaks about software and developer tooling, and publishes photography from Paris and travel at photography.raphaeltm.com.
